The Hanks Question of the Week

It's September, and down here in Florida we can almost see the turn of the season from "Really Amazingly Skin-Meltingly Hot" to "Barely Hot In Fact Maybe Even Just Warm". I think the rest of you call that the turn from Summer to Fall...? Anyway. It's got us thinking about sweaters, and scarves, and hats, and all the other cold-weather things that we can spend the next four months making because we really won't need them until we hit those three cold days in January. So yes, our thoughts are turning from socks and tank tops to sweaters and hats. Do you find this happens to you as well? Do you plan ahead for what you want to be wearing in three-to-five months?

I pulled out sweaters I made last year to see how they are doing and plotted for this years winter knitting. Socks still stay in my knitting plans but I plan on knitting at least two sweaters. I actually casted on one of them last week in hopes of an extreme cold front headed this way..

A gal can hope can't she?

Sadly, I plan for future knitting exactly like I plan for my friends birthdays: I have the best of intentions in my heart but allow myself to become too distracted too easily and then OMGITWASYOURBIRTHDAYYESTERDAY! Meaning, I plan. Sure. I recently reworked my queue on Ravelry. I have things I want to knit for Christmas... things I want to eventually knit for myself... things I want to knit for the shop... things I want to get spun for birthday gifts... all by dates "X". And then new yarn comes in and hits me sideways and I get all sparkly-eyed. Ahem. Not that I just got sidetracked by new sock yarn.

Look! Over there! It's Superman!
