The Hanks Question of the Week

In honor of us closing up shop early tomorrow and scooting off to see The Yarn Harlot... have you ever gone to see someone speak about fiber, be it about knitting, spinning, or crocheting? I know some of you have seen Stephanie speak before, and a couple of you have even been photographed by Franklin... tell us your experiences!

I went to see Panopticon when he was in Texas. I told him that knitting object is like a dating relationship. The particular sock I brought that day had been to fine dining, outdoor theater and now meeting celebrities. There was going to be no living with that sock now. He laughed. I'm sure I was making a strange face in my picture for the shoot, I usually do when I'm telling stories.

Well... I took some classes with Sally Melville (lovely woman!) and I've been a member of the Gainesville Handweaver's Guild for a while and thus have heard other speakers... but this is the first time that I'll be going to an event that's specifically geared towards hearing a knitter speak. I'm looking forward to it!

I saw The Harlot when she was in NYC a few years back. Got to meet Guido "It's a Purl, Man" Two-Skeins Stein. It was such fun, and I sat next to really cool people.

I've been on a LYS yarn cruise with Mary Beth Temple - she's very nice. I'd like to see Crazy Aunt Purl, if she ever came out this way.
